Dedicate your victories

1 Chronicles 18:11 King David dedicated these articles to the Lord, as he had done with the silver and gold he had taken from all these nations

David once was an unknown man, living in the desert with a few sheep. Now he was a famous king with a following. It is easy to cry out to God when you are in the desert. It is also easy to forget about God when you are in the palace.

David shows us that the antidote to forgetting about God is to praise Him for what He has done and to dedicate victories to the Lord.

When he conquered his enemies, he realised it was not his own strength or good fortune, it was the Lord.

I have found that when I dedicate everything to the Lord, I remain close to Him. I realise that it is not my strength, fortune or good luck. It is the Lord’s blessing and direction. That is why I keep giving to Him, offering my praises, my possessions and my talents, so that my heart stays dependent on Him.

Dedicate your victories to the Lord and stay close to Him.
