Everything is paid in full

Genesis 43:23 The steward said, “Everything’s in order. Don’t worry. Your God and the God of your father must have given you a bonus. I was paid in full.” And with that, he presented Simeon to them. (MSG)

When Joseph’s brothers first visited Egypt to buy grains, Joseph was gracious to them and ordered to give back his brothers’ silver and fill their bags with grains. Joseph displayed God’s character by choosing to love his brothers despite their past. God is love, and he calls us to love one another.

However, many of us get anxious about life like Joseph brothers who didn’t understand why they were invited to dine with Joseph and started to get worried about this opportunity because they felt like they didn’t earn it or deserved it.

God’s grace and mercy in our lives are not about what we do, but about our faith in Jesus. Having faith in God is believing that the same God who created heaven and earth cares about us daily. Similarly to what the steward said to Joseph’s brothers, we ought not to worry about our lives, but to be thankful that Jesus fully paid the price for our sins.

Prayer of the day: Thank you God that we can relax today and surrender our worries to you because our lives have been paid in full by the blood of Jesus Christ.
