In the midst of trouble the righteous still flourish

Isaiah 3:10 Tell the righteous it will be well with them,
for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.

What a sobering chapter this is. God is making very clear what will happen to Judah and Jerusalem, because of their departure from the Most High and His principles. They will be economically hit. They will lose their leaders and ‘important’ people. They will live in chaos, one person oppressing the other, scarcity of food, no one able to take the lead.

But in the middle of all that we find this promise:

‘Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds’ (verse 10)

Maybe you fear chaotic times. What if crisis hits us? What if our way of life is being taken down? What if we have no one to lead us?

You may know, when you are in Christ and when you do the right thing, you will still flourish. God will still look after you, like He looks after the remnant. He will protect you like He protected Joseph in captivity. He will look after you, like He looked after Paul and Silas in prison. Keep walking with Jesus, and you will continue to experience God’s presence and enabling grace.
