Refreshment in the company of God’s people

Romans 15:32 NIV So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.

Many people have had a tough first half of 2020. There is dryness of spirit, people are tired or worn out. We need refreshment. There is no better place to be refreshed than in the company of God’s people.

Maybe you need refreshment. The enemy knows this so he has tried to separate you from loved ones. Isolation as a generic measure is not God’s will, it has always been the enemy’s strategy. If he can isolate you, he can separate you. Alone, it is so much easier to turn cold. We need to be in the company of others, to stay fresh and hot. We are like coals in a barbecue. Only together will we be able to carry the fire and stay warm.

Strength is found in the company of God’s people. No one can reach their destiny by themselves. We need people around us, for comfort, encouragement, laughter and purpose. Your purpose will be discovered, as you connect in person, with the people of God.

Paul was not talking about refreshment through a zoom meeting, youtube or a phone call. However helpful technology is, make the choice this week to physically meet with God’s people. Show up for church or a small group. Walk and talk with someone. Have a drink together. Meet up with friends.

And receive refreshment.
