Walking in Holiness

Leviticus 11:45 ‘For I, the Lord, am the one who brought you up from the land of Egypt, that I might be your God. Therefore, you must be holy because I am holy.’ (NLT)

The Lord asked Moses and Aaron to share specific instructions about what were clean and unclean animals to be eaten or not to be consumed by the Israelites. God created all the animals, yet the consumption of some animals was holy and of the other unholy. Sometimes God restricts us from doing certain things that are harmless because He wants to teach us how to be obedient to Him.

Being obedient to God’s instructions is trusting that His will is for our good. Trust starts with the smallest things. For instance, following God’s instructions about our natural food opens our hearts to trust God’s instructions about our spiritual food.

Nevertheless, God knows that we can never fully keep all His instructions; that’s why He sent His son Jesus Christ to help us walk in holiness.

Prayer of the day: Thank you God for sending your only son Jesus who had no sin, but became sin for us so that in Him, we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21).
